About 30 years ago I participated in a workshop which combined art and movement. To that point I had never seen myself as creative. I found myself developing a dimensional image that surprised and inspired me. I painted for a few years then set aside my work until I retired in 2018. Now I can hardly stop painting..
I primarily paint with pastels (artist-quality "chalk"). I like to get close to my work and pastels allow me to dig into my process. Occasionally I paint a background of acrylic or insert paper into a painting.
I bicycle for transportation wherever possible and try to be present to the shapes, colors, shadows and light as I pedal along. I am interested in communicating an unrestricted work that comes out of a meditative process.
